VIDEO: Astros Ace Justin Verlander Records 3,000th Career Strikeout to Bolster Hall-of-Fame Resume

Just as the postseason approaches, Justin Verlander makes yet another impression on the baseball writers who will be voting him into Cooperstown. The Houston Astros ace recorded his 3,000th strikeout against the Los Angeles Angels in his final start of the regular season.

Kole Calhoun is going to remember that one, isn't he? But it's not all that for him, considering he got to first base safely.

Verlander simply ages like a fine wine. It all started with a Rookie of the Year Award and a pennant, and he has continued to perform well into his age-36 season. He could very well take home the AL Cy Young award and add another trophy to his case.
