VIDEO: Alex Smith Shows Commitment to Redskins by Attending Camp Amid Recovery From Leg Injury

Say what you will about Alex Smith's on-field abilities, but you'll never mistake him for a bad teammate. Less than a year after the quarterback suffered a truly gruesome leg injury that will keep him sidelined for the entirety of the 2019 season, video surfaced of the quarterback rolling into the Redskins' practice facility Thursday at the start of camp.

After many posited that Smith would never play football again, the former No. 1 overall pick is proving everyone wrong by showing a remarkable commitment to his team under terrible circumstances.

And this isn't the first time we've seen Alex on the practice field since the injury, either. In May, he showed up for OTAs and even tossed the football around despite the brace on his leg.

At the end of the day, it remains to be seen whether Smith will ever play quarterback again. And with first-round selection Dwayne Haskins primed to take over the Redskins starting job, Smith's future may not be in Washington either way.

Still, it's nice to see the class Alex has shown in supporting his teammates and being a leader this offseason.
