VIDEO: Albert Almora Jr. Extends Cubs Lead With Two-Run Shot Off Max Scherzer
By Brendan Azoff

The bottom of the order has given the Cubs a 3-0 lead early against Max Scherzer and the Nationals, as Albert Amora Jr. hit a two-run blast. It was just his fourth homer of the year, but he smacked it out of the park against one of the best arms in the game.

Almora introduced himself to Scherzer, on an 0-2 count no less, and added insult to what has been an off season for the Nationals ace. The 445-foot moonshot was no wall-scraper.
Almora's monstrous blast has put the Cubs well on their way to a victory in the first game of this series.
