VIDEO: USC Stuns Iowa With Onside Kick After Scoring Touchdown to Open Second Half

USC is squaring off against Iowa in the long-winded San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. The Trojans were trailing the Hawkeyes to start the second half, but Kedon Slovis managed to get things started with a bang in the third quarter, tossing a 57-yard bomb to Amon-Ra St. Brown to set up a score.

Stephen Carr was able to punch it in from three yards out to allow USC to make it a one-possession ball game.
After the score, Clay Helton decided to get a little experimental, and ordered up an onside kick which was executed to perfection.

USC's kicker struck the ball just enough to get it 10 yards and also used his body to shield and jump on the pigskin once a recovery became legal. Helton had nothing to lose by dialing up this onside kick, and it certainly caught Iowa off guard.
