Back in December, Urban Meyer announced he was stepping down as head coach at Ohio State, likely marking the end of his coaching career. Meyer will maintain a position in the Ohio State Athletic Department as the assistant athletic director while taking on a new analyst role for FOX's college football pregame show next season.

Recently, Meyer's name began to circulate in rumors that insinuated he'd make a return to the sideline. These rumors tied Meyer to USC thanks to comments from former Trojans running back Reggie Bush. Bush, who will share time with Meyer on FOX's college football show, stated that he'd "definitley be recruiting" Meyer to coach at USC. Despite the rumors, Urban Meyer recently put an end to the speculation that he'll return to coaching.

Meyer told Bill Rabinowitz of the Colombus Dispatch, "I learned my lesson long ago. All I'm going to say is I believe I'm done. I think I'm done."

The decision to retire from coaching came from Meyer's concerns with his own health. A brain cyst caused the Buckeyes coach to experience severe headaches during the 2018 season. Meyer has expressed concern for his health dating back to his time with the Florida Gators.

It seems like Meyer is completely done with his coaching career. While he certainly has plans to keep himself busy during next year's season, it's unlikely we'll ever see him on a sideline coaching again.
