A little less than a year ago, Urban Meyer cited health reasons behind his announcement that he was stepping down as the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes and retiring from the sideline. But we have reason to believe that the three-time national champion will inevitably make a return before too long.

For starters, ESPN's Mark Schlabach revealed back in January that he thinks the "retired" coach will take over the USC job in 2020. And on Friday, Meyer was didn't hesitate to extol the Trojans program while previewing their matchup versus No. 10 Utah.

It doesn't make sense for USC to publicize any potential interest in Meyer, but it's conceivable that some sort of romance must be crystallizing behind the scenes.

In arguably the best disguise possible, Meyer's current gig as a college football analyst for FOX permits him to analyze USC on a regular basis and even visit the Coliseum on certain occasions to get a better look at the place.

The stars are aligning, folks.

Meyer is destined to take over the reigns of the Trojans football program regardless of the success they manage under current boss Clay Helton. He just has to.
