Urban Meyer might be looking to return to coaching, albeit at the NFL level, and the opening that has caught his eye is a shock to many.

Meyer, who retired from coaching after a 187-32 record in college, will be at FedEx Field today as the Washington Redskins, who fired head coach Jay Gruden, take on the Philadelphia Eagles. He will be in the owner's suite with Redskins owner Dan Snyder. You don't say?

Meyer has been mentioned as one of the favorites to land the Dallas Cowboys job if Jason Garrett gets fired, and has made it clear he'd be interested in the gig if it was there for the taking. He could, however, be enticed to once again link up with Dwayne Haskins in Washington.

Haskins has struggled mightily as a rookie, throwing just three touchdowns against just seven interceptions, but he is currently playing in an offense that has looked terrible all year long.

Meyer plus a boatload of new talent via the draft or free agency could get Washington back on the right track.

Meyer has won everything he could possibly win during his tenures at Florida and Ohio State, and he's shown he is more than capable of building a program from nothing during his Bowling Green and Utah days, but the Redskins have been burned by the superstar college head coach before.

Former Florida head coach Steve Spurrier was an abject disaster in the early 2000s, and Meyer has an eerily similar resume and style of coaching. Could things end up developing here?
