The Tar Heels dropped 10 spots to No. 17 after losses to both Ohio State and Virginia last week. Not just losses, but double-digit losses.
The game against Ohio State was embarrassing and the 74-49 final may have been worse if the Buckeyes played competitive basketball for all 40 minutes.
The 56-47 loss against Virginia was tough because the Cavaliers were coming off a 29-point loss to the Purdue. The team showed how it could be beaten and the Tar Heels blew the opportunity.
UNC has now lost three of their last four games, that’s all, that’s the tweet.

The top of the poll mostly stays the same with Louisville and Kansas holding down the top two spots. Ohio State jumped up three spots to No. 3 after that huge win over the Tar Heels.
One more notable drop in the rankings came from Michigan State, down five spots to No. 16, just one spot ahead of North Carolina.
The college basketball season is filled with ups and downs and these rankings are out as the main conference schedule gets underway. North Carolina will have plenty of chances to rise back up the rankings.
