UGA Photographer Shares Picture of RB Brian Herrien Right Before Scary Sideline Collision

When you are willing to take a hit from a running back in order to get your job done, that's real dedication to your craft.

University of Georgia athletic department photographer Chamberlain Smith was able to get off a nice shot before being accidentally taken out by Bulldogs running back Brian Herrien this past Saturday, and she has the image to prove it.

Excellent work, indeed.

Smith took the photo above as Herrien was tackled out of bounds, before he collided with her, briefly knocking her unconscious. Medical personnel then stretchered her off the field. Fortunately, despite a concussion and some bruising, she hopes to return to the sidelines soon.

In the face of danger, she stood down a 6'0", 209-lb. SEC running back and not only suffered the tackle, but also captured a brilliant image. That takes mountains of willpower.

Herrien himself also gave his thanks after the photo was released.

Now, while Smith is grateful for her health, it is only fair that the No. 4 Bulldogs actually went on to win the game at No. 16 Auburn by the score of 21-14. That playoff run continues. Hurry back, photog!
