3 Fighters Tyson Fury Should Take on After Completing Deontay Wilder Trilogy

Even though it didn't go the distance like their first bout and ended in a manner few could have predicted, Saturday's heavyweight title rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder proved to be a terrific night for the sport of boxing. The Gypsy King announced his superiority from the opening bell of Round 1 and pretty much waltzed his way to a seventh-round TKO of the Bronze Bomber to become the WBC Heavyweight champion.

With Wilder triggering the fight contract's automatic rematch clause, we know that the next action for both of these guys will be a run-it-back bout to complete the trilogy. But afterward, Fury will have some interesting choices to make -- if and when he prevails this summer in a final throwdown with Wilder, he should target one of these three opponents.

3. Dillian Whyte

We kind of wanted to include Andy Ruiz Jr. in here, but Fury has previously stated that he could defeat the pudgy Mexican-American with one hand. After the Gypsy King's domination of Wilder, we believe him. That leaves us with Dillian Whyte, who has been hankering for a fight against Fury. The Englishman been the No. 1 contender and mandatory challenger for the WBC heavyweight belt for quite some time now, but still hasn't been granted his opportunity. Schedule this one for the O2 Arena and watch the money roll in.

2. Oscar Rivas

If Fury doesnt' want to wait around for a superfight with Anthony Joshua to materialize or attempt to play ball with any other fighter from a rival promotion, he can stay at home with Top Rank and take on Oscar Rivas, who was added to Bob Arum's fighter roster earlier this month. He's undersized at 6-foot-nothing, but his only career loss came against Whyte.

1. Anthony Joshua

The boxing world NEEDS a Fury-AJ bout in the worst way, and yes, we want that to witness that bout before Fury and Wilder inevitably square off for a third time. It's practically written in the stars for an all-British championship showdown for the undisputed heavyweight tile. Joshua currently holds the IBF, WBA, and WBO crowns after winning his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr. in December. There's simply no bigger fight to make, period.
