According to the rumor mill, Tua Tagovailoa's injury that will prevent him from playing again in 2019 could have a major ripple effect that lasts throughout 2020 and even 2021.

Tagovailoa, who was widely expected to be a Top 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft before his injury, was ruled out for the year after he dislocated his hip against Mississippi State. Per early reports, and amid the discussion over his return to Bama and next steps, he could potentially be out for the entire 2020 season, be that at Alabama or with a professional squad.

Tagovailoa has undergone a procedure to put his hip back into place, but it will be a while before he is allowed to play due to the severity of his injury.

Some are even wondering if this injury could be CAREER-ending for Tua, pointing out the similarities between his hip injury and that of Bo Jackson, who ended his football career after four seasons due to a hip dislocation. CBS Sports' report assessing the injury noted that returning for the 2020 season is far from a certainty.

At this point, all you can do is pray that the football gods are merciful and the guy who has dominated college football for the last three years is able to return.

And return as himself.
