Trey Mancini was away from the Orioles for much of the offseason while dealing with personal matters, which were not disclosed publicly. Well, Mancini revealed the reason for his absence on Friday, alerting fans that he'd undergone a procedure to remove a malignant tumor from his colon. Well, in some encouraging news, the Baltimore Orioles star sent out a positive video update assuring fans that he has high hopes for his recovery and his future after Friday's successful procedure.

For those of you who reached out to the Orioles' star during his health scare, he wanted to let you know your well-wishes were received and greatly appreciated. The slugger received an outpour of love from Oriole Nation and baseball fans alike, and he's grateful.

Above all else, it's relieving to see that Mancini is doing well and is in high spirits. He's one of the most exciting young stars in all of baseball, and hearing of the nature of his ailment was truly worrisome.

He pieced together a phenomenal campaign in 2019, slugging 35 home runs while hitting to the tune of an impressive .899 OPS. This health scare was a minor setback in what's hopefully going to be another major season for the 27-year-old.
