Trey Lance officially out for the season

Terrible news has arrived for Trey Lance and the San Francisco 49ers. In Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, Lance went down with a serious ankle injury and he had to be carted off the field in sad fashion.

Now, it has been confirmed that Lance had to undergo surgery and he'll be lost for the rest of the year. It's on Jimmy Garoppolo to take over the offense.

Garoppolo was nearly traded/released this offseason, but SF managed to keep him in town. Jimmy G has plenty of experience running the offense. The 49ers will depend on him to ball out with Lance out.
