Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams, who has languished in relative anonymity on some bad Washington teams, is one of the best pass protecting offensive tackles in the league by any metric. While the Redskins were planning on going into 2019 with one of the best offensive lines in the country, with Williams at the center of it all, the seven-time Pro Bowler has screwed up that plan by holding out, in turn demanding a trade or release.

According to reports, Williams' anger is due to his displeasure with the team's medical staff.

Williams had a small tumor on his scalp removed early in the offseason. Apparently how the team advised him to deal with this injury is what is leading to all this frustration.

If the Redskins were to cut or trade him, it is worth considering that he still has two years and $24 million left on his deal. That is a paltry sum, however, for one of the most complete, experienced tackles in the game today.

Not only are the Redskins in the middle of a rebuild with a rookie quarterback, but they might have to jettison their best player due to their medical staff's incompetence. Some teams are just snakebitten, and Washington certainly qualifies.
