On Friday, we witnessed Tua Tagovailoa throw a football for the first time since he suffered a fractured hip against Mississippi State in November. The former Alabama signal-caller has received glowing reviews from doctors in the months following his hip surgery, and NFL Draft scouts have surely had his Pro Day circled on their calendars for quite some time.

Former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer directed Tagovailoa's workout and actually provided a breakdown of the session, which was alarmingly positive for a player who basically had a catch with his receivers that was largely scripted.

It's becoming quite clear why Dilfer has continued to talk up the former Crimson Tide star around the proverbial water cooler, going as far as anointing him as a future Hall of Famer.

So, Dilfer ran the workout, was in charge of evaluating the workout, and provided a positive assessment after the workout? That doesn't seem fishy at all, and now it really doesn't come as a surprise that Dilfer recently told the Washington Post that Tua throws... better than Aaron Rodgers and Dan Marino, two legends of the game?

Come on, big man.

Tua would never agree to have his Pro Day organized by an individual who wasn't a fan of his craft, but at this point, we cannot know if Dilfer's dissection of the 22-year-old was honest or straight-up biased. We're kind of forced to lean towards the latter here.
