Tony Romo Finishes 1st Day of Safeway Open With His Best Score Ever in a PGA Tour Round
By Kevin Aquino

We've seen Tony Romo the football player and Tony Romo the basketball player, but Tony Romo the golfer actually isn't looking too shabby on the greens, either. The former Cowboys quarterback and current CBS television analyst is in the hunt at the Safeway Open with a 2-under 70, his personal-best score at a PGA Tour event.
Tony Romo opens with a 2-under 70 at the @SafewayOpen. That's currently good enough for T20. #SafewayOpen

Countless professional athletes have an affinity for playing golf in their free time, and now that Romo is retired from the NFL, he's taken his game to a new level. Should he sustain his level of play in his third PGA Tour appearance of 2019, he could very well find a second life as a prolific pro athlete.

The 39-year-old already has a celebrity golf championship of his own, but holding his own with the pros is another thing entirely.

Romo does have duties as a football analyst for CBS on Sunday, which obviously conflicts with the Safeway Open schedule. The broadcast booth may need to find a replacement if the four-time Pro Bowl selection continues to turn heads with his golf swing.
