The New York Yankees' fanbase watched their team get the series win over the lowly Detroit Tigers, but it came at a cost. Fans wallowed after hearing Edwin Encarnacion, JA Happ and Gary Sanchez went down with injuries during the doubleheader, all whom are all on their way to New York for medical evaluations.

Another Yankee needed some medical attention, and fans are not going to want to hear about it.

According to Yankees beat reporter Bryan Hoch, relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle got checked out by the medical staff...after slamming his hand into a sunflower seeds bin.

The incident allegedly occurred after Kahnle was removed from Thursday night's game after surrendering an RBI triple to Grayson Greiner in the bottom of the ninth inning.

In regards to the severity, manager Aaron Boone believes Kahnle will be OK.

Those who follow the Yankees are receiving AJ Burnett vibes from this Kahnle update. During a start in the 2010 season, Burnett expressed his frustrations in between innings by slamming his hands into a plastic holder on a clubhouse door, resulting in lacerations on his palms.

The Yankees have dealt with ungodly amounts of injuries, but this is perhaps the strangest one of them all. Fans better hope there's nothing serious about it.
