Tom Herman Apologizes for Giving Middle Finger to Camera on Longhorn Network

On Early Signing Day, Tom Herman stole the show in the worst way possible. Today, the third-year Texas head coach apologized for a now infamous incident, which saw him flipping off a camera.
While this wasn't the most heinous action by a coach caught on camera, Herman's immature behavior is a bit unbecoming of the head coach for such a prestigious program.
Texas coach Tom Herman begins his signing day presser. "Obviously before we start, I do want to apologize with something that ended up on live TV..."

Herman alleges that he had no idea that he was on live television at the time, while also blaming his rowdiness on a chummy recap session of his first game coaching the team against Oklahoma in 2017. For a coach that was beyond offended by opposing teams doing the "horns down" hand gesture, Herman's liberal usage of "the bird" is an interesting double standard.
Tom Herman is apparently under the impression that double birds on live TV is less offensive than horns down.https://t.co/3kE4VA6QtM

The "double bird" Herman hit the Longhorn Network camera with was likely not a sign of frustration with recruiting, as the Longhorns currently check in with the 11th best class in college football. With Herman's half-hearted apology finally out of the way, he and the Longhorns will look to emerge victorious in the Alamo Bowl against No. 11 Utah on New Year's Eve.
