The Los Angeles Chargers looked the part of a Tom Brady suitor if and when the longtime Patriots legend opted to walk right out of New England in free agency. But today, with Brady officiailly deciding to seek out a new team, there are strong indications that Bolts fans ought not get their hopes up about snagging TB12.

According to NFL insider Jim Trotter, Brady prefers an east coast team, leading the Chargers to consider themselves out of the running to sign him.

That's a double-whammy for LA, who must reckon with the departure of Philip Rivers to the Colts no matter what else happens. And there's another even bigger takeaway from this report: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are suddenly the prohibitive favorites to land Brady.

Think about that for a moment.

Is there any greater upgrade than jettisoning Jameis WInston and signing a six-time Super Bowl champ? We saw last year that Brady isn't the same QB he once was, but we can guarantee you right now that he won't match Jameis' outrageous 30-interception season from 2019.

Picture it. Picture TB12 in those weird uniforms that never needed to be made. Picture him airing it out for Mike Evans. Threading the needle over the middle to OJ Howard. It's never been closer to reality.

As wild and weird as it sounds.
