The Wizards Give Isaiah Thomas a Perfect Chance to Reboot His Career
By Brendan Azoff

After a tremendous run with the Boston Celtics that ended abruptly once Kyrie Irving was acquired, Isaiah Thomas has suffered setback after setback en-route to returning to his once elite form.
On Monday, he took a huge step in the road back to NBA stardom, signing a one-year deal with the Washington Wizards.

Thomas played in just 12 games for the Denver Nuggets last season, averaging 8.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in just over 15 minutes per game. It was obviously a rough road to recovery for Thomas who suffered a hip injury before last season that seemed to continually linger around.
The undersized guard shocked many people with his ability to score the ball, and Washington is hoping that some of that offensive prowess will accompany Thomas in the nation's capital.

The Wizards are a team in disarray, and while that may not benefit Thomas in his fight back to the upper-echelon of the league, the organization can offer him substantial opportunity to prove that he's no one-season wonder. Playing time is all that Thomas was seeking this offseason, and he's landed in an ideal situation to earn plenty of minutes.
By signing Thomas, the Wizards added an insurance policy for John Wall, who may not return to action at all next year. Thomas alongside Bradley Beal would be a tantalizing backcourt, one that can score in bunches for Washington.
