Last NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers had major expectations. Superstar forward and all time great, Lebron James, decided to take his talents to the City of Angels and with that, many envisioned the Lakers going back to their winning ways after years of irrelevance. However, due to a combination of injuries, trade rumors, and front office turmoil, the team barely improved and missed the playoffs once again. Luckily for Lakers fans, the acquisition of Anthony Davis last June will lead to a championship this upcoming season.

Last season was a strange one for Davis. He and his agent, Rich Paul, requested a trade from New Orleans in hopes of getting moved by the deadline in February. It didn't happen, and barely played the rest of the year. This has caused many fans to forget how great of a player AD is. He's is a 6'10 athletic freak who dominates on both ends of the floor. He can average 28 and 12 in his sleep, and likely still hasn't reached his prime at just 26 years old. The only thing that's stopped him from winning championships was a lack of help, which he now has in Lebron James.

Yes, the Lakers did lose some valuable young pieces like Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball in the AD trade. But the GM, Rob Pelinka, made great free agent signings this summer to construct the perfect roster around AD and Lebron. Danny Green and Jared Dudley are great shooters that will spread the floor. This is a perfect compliment for somebody with the playmaking skills of Lebron. Also, the addition of Dwight Howard will provide the interior defense and rebounding that this team lacked. The combination of all these factors will lead to the best Lakers season since 2010, and they will be holding up the Larry O' Brien Trophy next June.
