When it appears that the Lakers would have an uneventful summer in free-agency, they prove everyone wrong. The Lakers failed to acquire Kawhi Leonard and let the most top-free agents leave the market. However, the Lakers seem not too phased as they went on to sign DeMarcus Cousins, Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley, and Danny Green. Combine all of these veteran free agent signings with Anthony Davis, Lebron James, and Kyle Kuzma, they will win the NBA title this year.

The Lakers arguably lost their best defenders: Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and now Cousins with a torn ACL. Last season, the Lakers ranked 21st in defense (113.5 ppg). Davis, the three-time All-NBA Defensive selection who has led the league in blocks three times, is adaptable and can defend multiple positions. The same goes for Green and Bradley. With the Lakers losing Ball, they were unable to have a player that is capable of handling a Stephen Curry type guard. Bradley is one of the few willing to take on this challenge and he will shine come playoff season.

Since the Lakers missed playoffs, James has had time to rest. Entering his 17th season, he is expected to pull similar numbers. That's how invincible he is. James will be healthier, full of energy, and eager to finish what he started last season.

Last season, the Lakers were second to last in three-point shooting. This season, the Los Angeles Lakers should have a more successful season with the addition of Danny Green, Quinn Cook, and Troy Daniels (all with 40% three-point percentages). With this incredible amount of shooters, it's only trouble for the rest of the league. The more threes you make, the more wins you can obtain.

Although losing Cousins is huge, if everyone can stay healthy, the Los Angeles Lakers will become a force to be reckoned with.
