The Lakers Are So Pathetic Even LaVar Ball Predicted Their Downfall

There have been many reports and much speculation of the turmoil within the Lakers front office. To hammer home the point, Magic Johnson went on ESPN's First Take to spill all the beans on his tenure as the team president. He revealed betrayals and power struggles within the front office; however, none of it was surprising.

In fact, the Lakers' ineptitude was so obvious that even LaVar Ball foresaw their collapse. Here he is talking about their discombobulated front office all the way back in February.

LaVar is often speaking nonsense, but he was foreshadowing the truth here. He called out Magic for just being a "face" for the franchise and questioned the power struggle of the Lakers' leadership.

The lack of structure of the Lakers front office has been one of their biggest downfalls. Magic specifically pointed out Rob Pelinka – still the current GM – as someone who betrayed him by talking behind his back. He also voiced his frustrations with Tim Anderson – the Chief Operating Officer who mostly handles business aspects – for having power on the basketball operations side.

Despite Magic's frustrations and LaVar's warnings, it doesn't look like the Lakers are making any changes. More voices have become involved in basketball operations as Kurt and Linda Rambis have become important voices within the front office. The team also recently announced that they won't be hiring a new team president and will keep Pelinka as the chief decision maker.

The Lakers are quickly becoming one of the biggest laughingstocks in the league while wasting away LeBron James' talent. If Ball can tell why your franchise is a mess, you should probably make some important changes.
