Texas A&M Quarterback Jagger LaRoe Announces Transfer to Ohio State
By Brian Cass

After Dwayne Haskins left Ohio State for the NFL this year, the QB competition to take over Ryan Day's offense seemed to be between Justin Fields and Matthew Baldwin.
It may very well still come down to those two, but it looks like the Buckeyes may have gotten their quarterback of the future with Texas A&M transfer, Jagger LaRoe.

OSU's QB room is now loaded with talent after the addition of LaRoe. He's transferring to Columbus as a preferred walk-on and still has all four years of eligibility left for his collegiate career. If he comes in and pushes the QBs ahead of him on the depth chart to play their best football, he'll likely earn himself a scholarship during camp.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound QB didn't play at all during his freshman year at A&M, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a hot commodity coming out of high school.
During his time playing under Friday night lights, LaRoe totaled 4,514 passing yards, 42 passing touchdowns to only 11 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 65%.

With Ryan Day and quarterbacks coach Mike Yurich, LaRoe certainly has the support system around him to succeed. We may not get to see him during game action this year, but depending on how well his development goes, we could see him on the field as OSU's starter as soon as the 2020 season.
