Texas A&M DB Arrested for Assault Over Argument About Tacos

Things can get pretty heated down in the Lone Star State, and it was no different when Texas A&M Aggies defensive back Derrick Tucker got into a physical altercation with a man over... tacos?

Debates about our foodstuffs can certainly spur some serious conversation, but it looks like this one back in March boiled over just a bit.

The Aggies defender was arrested Thursday for assaulting a man -- striking him in the back of the head, specifically -- in what was described as a disagreement over tacos. (Imagine writing that police report.)

A warrant was issued for Tucker's arrest and he was later booked and released from Brazos County Jail after posting a $5,000 bond.

The alleged victim told police that he was waiting for an Uber when Tucker came up and attacked him from behind. When the victim first went to police nearly 14 hours after the incident had occurred, there were obvious signs he'd been struck. He was noted to have had some swelling in the back of his head.

Tucker has been a key part of Jimbo Fisher's secondary, as he started 15 games for the team, with eight of those coming in the 2018 season. The hope is that this embarrassing episode can be put to rest in due time.
