Cleveland Indians ace Corey Kluber has been in a cast since his May 1 injury in Miami when a line drive off the bat of Marlins infielder Brian Anderson hit the pitcher in the arm in the fifth inning, causing a fracture.

But Tribe fans hopeful for the two-time American League Cy Young winner's return now have an update from manager Terry Francona that they can feel good about.

Hopefully for Cleveland and their fans, Kluber can have his cast removed as soon as possible on his road to recovery from his injury, officially diagnosed as an non-displaced ulnar fracture in his forearm.

When the ball had rolled to a stop after striking Kluber, the pitcher didn't even attempt to pick up the ball even as Anderson was about to reach first base safely.

"At that point you start thinking the worst,” said Indians catcher Roberto Perez, per USA Today, when the injury took place. Kluber said that upon impact, his arm was numb.

Kluber hasn't been the only Indian pitcher on the injured list, with Mike Clevinger also having been out and still weeks away from returning after suffering a back issue during his second start of the season.

The three-time defending AL Central division champions currently sit in second place behind the Minnesota Twins and 4.5 games back, so they'll want their whole starting rotation back as soon as possible.
