Secondary is the X-Factor in Titans' Upset Bid Against Ravens

The Tennessee Titans, led on defense by former Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees, are the unfortunate holders of one of the 10 worst pass defenses in the NFL this season.

It goes without saying that Tennessee's exploitable secondary could be a real albatross as they try to upset Lamar Jackson, who led the NFL in touchdown passes, and a white hot Baltimore Ravens squad.

With that in mind, the visiting Titans' key to victory this weekend is getting the best possible game out of their defensive backs.

While Mark Andrews and the tight ends slicing up a linebacking corps that is already weakened due to an injury to Jayon Brown could be one way Baltimore takes home a win, Jackson launching bombs deep to Marquise Brown could just as easily sink a Titans team that even subpar quarterbacks have moved the ball against.

The good news for the Titans, however, is that in their win against the New England Patriots, their cornerbacks were nothing short of exceptional. Journeyman Tramaine Brock allowed just two catches on 10 targets, while Adoree Jackson allowed just one catch on four targets. The pair combined for 18 total yards allowed.

Tennessee was able to hold it together for one week against a severely limited New England passing game, but facing off against the most unique offense in the league spearheaded by the presumptive MVP is a totally different animal. The aerial circus on show this Saturday could be heartbreaking for the Titans if they don't recapture their past form.
