Tennessee Released LB Jeremy Banks After He Allegedly Made Graphic Threats Against Woman
By Sean Facey

The Tennessee Volunteers have had an extremely awful year on the field, and apparently character problems have also been an issue for them.
The Volunteers made the decision to cut linebacker Jeremy Banks after it was revealed that he allegedly made violent and graphic threats against a female student. The student also alleges that Banks had been hounding her for months.

Banks allegedly threatened to smack the woman in question. The news of his release from the team comes days after video surfaced of him verbally berating a police officer during an arrest in the middle of September.
Banks had been a key part of the defense for Tennessee this year. In fact, he had managed two interceptions in the Volunteers' first win of the season against Chattanooga, a game that ultimately turned out to be his last for the under-performing squad.

School officials have reportedly issued a no-contact order against Banks as they continue to investigate the altercation between him and the woman.
While the on-field product has been less than appetizing for Volunteers fans, there's at least solace in that they had the dignity to part ways with a player who was conducting himself poorly away from the game.
