Mike Norvell's staff at FSU is starting to come together quite nicely, as the former Memphis coach came in almost immediately with a full staff, except for a RBs coach.

On Friday, Norvell found his RB coach, hiring away David Johnson from the Tennessee Volunteers.

Johnson joined the Vols in 2018, serving as a receivers coach, a position that he found a lot of success in as he helped develop players like Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway, and Josh Palmer.

Johnson coached the RB position this past season, as Vols backs averaged 144.8 yards per game. Johnson coached receivers at Memphis under Norvell before moving on to Knoxville.

With this hire, Norvell has rounded out his staff for year one in Tallahassee, and boy does it look formidable.

In the wake of the much-maligned Willie Taggart era, the Seminoles will look to retool over the course of these next few seasons, with the goal being a return to the same level of success experienced under Jimbo Fisher.
