North Carolina State is undergoing a transition at quarterback, and must rely heavily on their defense to shut down Tommy DeVito and Co. If not, the Orange should be favored to win their third straight game heading into a pivotal matchup against Pittsburgh next Friday night.
Bailey Hockman will make his first career start on Thursday against a Cuse defense with something to prove. The Orange have given up 63 and 41 points to Maryland and Clemson, respectively, in their only two real tests of the season thus far.

Both of these teams are 0-1 in conference and have yet to defeat a Power-5 opponent this season. To say this matchup looms large in terms of bowl eligibility and ACC status is an understatement, so expect some fireworks from Raleigh.
