The Golden State Warriors showcased some Christmas magic in San Francisco by picking up a big upset win over the Houston Rockets Wednesday afternoon.

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson remain sidelined with injuries, but had the bench celebrating throughout the game. The flourishes were surely a bit much, but Steve Kerr was fine with it based on how the team's season has gone to this point.

Kerr is showing why he is a great coach despite the Dubs' struggles. He understands how special the past five years were -- conference titles every year, three NBA championships -- and isn't panicking about the Warriors' hard-luck season without their two top players, to say nothing of Kevin Durant's departure for Brooklyn.

The celebrating really got going late in the fourth quarter when the Warriors took an insurmountable double-digit lead over Houston. Keeping things light in the midst of a "lousy" season is a must. In that case, the mission accomplished on Christmas day.

Kerr's attitude was fitting given the way the season has gone, and the referees had enough Christmas cheer to avoid spoiling the excitement. The only ones who wanted a technical foul on the Golden State bench were embittered Rockets fans. What a bunch of Scrooges!
