Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is one of the most straightforward individuals in the NFL when speaking at the podium. He rarely minces words.

So when he was asked if offensive tackle Zach Banner was athletic enough to be considered an option at fullback in Pittsburgh's goal line offense, he responded with a one-word answer.

Starting fullback Roosevelt Nix has been placed on IR, so the Steelers do need to find a replacement, but Banner doesn't appear to be in the running, according to Tomlin.

This is likely a tongue-in-cheek statement because Banner has already issued a pair of responses to his coach's assessment.

Perhaps the offensive lineman will use this as motivation for their upcoming game against the Bills.

Challenging your head coach to a foot race is one way to prove your athleticism.

Perhaps this is all a smokescreen. Banner did line up as an eligible receiver vs. the Cardinals in Week 14 and was wide open, but Devlin Hodges
was unable to get him the ball. We would love to see him get a second chance.

Come on, coach!
