Steelers Cavon Walker Signing is Low-Key Brilliant
By Brendan Balsamo

A former Maryland Terrapin, Cavon Walker, had found some amazing success in the XFL this past season with the New York Guardians. Now, he's able to take his talents to a higher level.
The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off a genius move on Wednesday by signing the defensive lineman to a one-year deal for the 2020 season.

In the 2020 XFL season that was unfortunately cut short, Walker led the league in sacks with 4.5 and also had 19 tackles, five tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits. After acquiring those stats in only five games, he was named to the Midseason All-XFL Team.
This is a great signing, as not only do the Steelers need help on the defensive front with the loss of Joe Hargrave, but Walker is a low-risk high-reward type of player. He's signed to a cheap contract but has the potential to put up big numbers, as shown by his XFL performance.
#Steelers signed short-lived #XFL star DL, Cavon Walker. Here are a few facts about him:

- XFL sack leader (4.5 in 5 games)
- 5 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 4 QB hits in final XFL game

With the success of Cavon Walker and PJ Walker in finding a spot in the NFL, the XFL has established itself as a legitimate stepping stone to the highest level of football in the world. If the two are successful in the NFL, the brand new football league could find itself lasting a lot longer than first thought.
