San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has long been one of the most outspoken coaches across all of American sports.

Not stunningly, he drew the ire of Donald Trump again this week when he was criticized by name for not having a more definitive, passionate response with regards to the ongoing situation regarding the NBA and China in the wake of Daryl Morey's controversial tweets.

Popovich shrugged off the criticism coming from the White House, saying that he has "better things to do" than worry about what Trump is saying about him.

No one connected to the NBA has taken a hardline stance either way in this situation. If they slam Morey for his tweets, they appear unpatriotic. If they are too strong in their criticism of China, the league could see even more money drained out of it, as they are being given the cold shoulder from their second-biggest market.

Popovich could have easily been baited into getting into a shouting match with Trump, but chose to dismiss him as not worth his time. It's a smart strategy to take for the moment, as this is still very much a developing situation.
