Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes both showed out in their Week 1 matchups to start the 2019 NFL season. They headline a group of young quarterbacks in the league right now that seem destined for massive contracts, and extensions the likes of which have never been seen before in football.

And, thanks to some recently-calculated contracts from Spotrac, the forthcoming dollar figures might back up the talk about their record-breaking potential. Prescott was estimated to be worth an absurd $202 million over a six-year span, and Mahomes was valued at an eye-popping $37 million per year for five years.

Talk about massive paydays! But as ridiculous as those numbers seem, it's pretty easy to see why these stars are valued so highly.

Prescott, for example, became the first Dallas Cowboys quarterback in 50 years to put up a perfect passer rating in a game when he torched the New York Giants' defense for 405 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1. If he plays anywhere close to that level for the year, he might actually get the $40 million average annual value that he desires.

In a similar vein, Mahomes, the reigning NFL MVP, put up a stellar performance against the Jaguars, throwing for 378 yards and three touchdowns as he guided the Kansas City Chiefs to a 40-26 victory.

Considering the two of them play at such a high level at a premium position, it's no wonder that their projected valuations are so high. They both seem destined for absolutely massive paydays.
