Spike Lee is one of the most loyal New York Knicks fans in the world. That's why it was so bizarre to see a clip of him arguing with staff when trying to enter Madison Square Garden ahead of Monday night's Knicks game against the Houston Rockets. The insinuation based on a viral clip was that Knicks owner James Dolan did not want to allow Lee into the arena, though it turns out there wasn't much truth to that rumor.

As with most viral clips, this lacked context. You can just hear Lee in the back yelling "No one told me!" He also mentions they can arrest him like Charles Oakley. This seemed intense and it would be a major story if Lee was actually being refused entrance. It turns out he ended up in his seat and this was all just one big misunderstanding.

In actuality, Lee had tried to enter the stadium through the employee entrance, rather than the VIP entrance. When security refused to let him through, Lee demanded answers, going on a tirade against the staff that included references to Dolan's infamous feud with Charles Oakley.

Fortunately things seem to have gotten solved, as Lee was spotted back in his usual courtside seat in the second half.
