It's never a peaceful time in the NFL when the NFLPA and the league owners get together and talk about the upcoming CBA. However, it appears the owners are willing to change some things around that'll benefit their bottom dollar and the players as a whole.

According to Mark Maske of the Washington Post, NFL owners want to revisit the idea of an 18-game regular season or an expansion of the playoffs, and offer the NFLPA concessions on the commissioner's disciplinary authority and current marijuana policy.

The expansion of games has been a hot-button topic because football is a brutal sport and physically wears down the players throughout the season. However, adding more games, whether to the regular season or postseason, would generate more revenue for the teams.

The questions the NFLPA has to ask themselves is how bad do they want commissioner Roger Goodell's authority reigned in and do they want dramatic changes to the current marijuana policy.

There has to be give and take from both sides for an agreement to be reached and avoid another lockout. Even if all of this doesn't happen, it's a good sign that the two sides appear to be negotiating.
