SEC Fans Now Have an Outlet for Their Ref Frustration and That's Terrifying
By Max Scoli

Everybody knows how much SEC fans love to voice their opinions about mistakes made by referees, and now they have a specific outlet to do it.
On Monday, the SEC created an official Twitter account focused on officiating, along with an accompanying website, to keep fans updated on everything from game rules to statistics in an effort to hold the refs more accountable. And the powers of social media won't possibly be used by fans for evil purposes, right?

This account will serve as your source for rules, videos, statistics and activities inside the SEC Video Center.
Go easy on us!
Although the @SECOfficiating account begged for mercy as they posted their inaugural tweet, fans down south did anything but go easy on them.
Almost as soon as that message was tweeted, a flood of videos and pictures from fans rushed in asking for explanations of missed or wrong calls from the recent past. Take a look:

How about more?
What’s your explanation for this egregious failure in officiating? I’ll hang up and listen, thanks. pic.twitter.com/3v7Qgu3l4W

Despite the harsh criticism, the decision to make the page does make sense. Instead of having fans pass judgment on plays without being fully aware of the rules to consider, this account gives the SEC a space to give their rationale for controversial calls and explain their side of things.
This move could pave the way to hold officials more accountable in a world where some blindly accept authority without questioning it. Fingers crossed that this idea doesn't totally spin out of control before the summer even ends.
