Sean Doolittle Silences Those Critical of Daniel Hudson Missing Game 1 for Paternity Leave

Washington Nationals pitcher Daniel Hudson was away from Game 1 of the NLCS in order to witness the birth of his daughter, and somehow, that drew the ire of some Nats fans.

When reporters asked Doolittle about Hudson's paternity leave and the surprising criticism the reliever faced, he gave a NSFW response, but it pretty much reflects human decency.

Doolittle had the natural reaction to hearing about a significant moment in a teammate and friend's life, rather than criticize the timing of Hudson's paternity leave.

Hudson's wife, Sara, and he reportedly even planned on inducing labor between playoff series so he wouldn't miss any games.

Do these people realize how much of a sacrifice that is by him, but especially by her? She agreed to schedule her child's birth so her husband could play a game.

There are two great things to come out of this, though.

The first and more important one is that the Hudsons welcomed their third child, a girl named Millie, and everyone is happy and healthy.

The second, which is good enough to stick in the faces of Hudson's critics, is that he got the save in Game 2 in St. Louis on Saturday, and the Nationals are two wins away from the World Series.
