Seahawks Signing Former Ohio State QB JT Barrett
By Charles Nason

For former Ohio State star JT Barrett, the beginning of his NFL career has been all but glamorous. After going undrafted in 2018, Barrett joined the New Orleans Saints. Just nine days ago, he was released despite signing a reserve/future contract with the team.
Looking for his first legitimate job in professional football, Barrett has finally found a new home.

This is great news for the former Buckeye. Barrett is well-known for the record-breaking years he had at Ohio State, which unfortunately didn't turn into the immediate NFL success most expected.
As for the Seahawks, they have Russell Wilson as their solidified starter, with Paxton Lynch currently occupying the backup role. After Geno Smith went down with an injury, the team seemingly brought in Barrett for insurance purposes.

Even though the first few years of his NFL career have been brutal, Barrett could have a shot at redemption in Seattle. However, if Geno Smith comes back from his injury healthy and plays well, Barrett could be on the move once again, or just simply serve as a reserve fourth option for the Seahawks.
