The New York Jets made news on Saturday after they released this year's third-round pick Jachai Polite. Luckily for the defender out of Florida, he didn't have to wait long before being picked up.

According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Seattle Seahawks are signing Polite to their practice squad once he clears waivers.

Maybe the Jets ended up making the right decision by moving on from Polite, who was up and down on everyone's draft boards. But if there was any doubt he couldn't even make your practice squad, he shouldn't have been selected with a third-round pick.

The fact he was cut to begin with is amazing, as most Top-100 picks are almost guaranteed a roster spot, especially someone who at one point was labeled a potential first-round pick.

Now the Seahawks have an intriguing reclamation project on their hands as they look to continue building their defense after the acquisition of Jadeveon Clowney.
