Seahawks Should Sit Tyler Lockett and Feature Josh Gordon Against Shaky Eagles Secondary

In what's easily one of the best NFL games heading into Week 12, the Eagles will host Russell Wilson and the Seahawks on Sunday. While we can't wait for the opening kick to get here, a lot of attention leading up to Sunday will be on Tyler Lockett's status.

He avoided a MAJOR leg injury in the win over the 49ers last week, with reports suggesting he could end up playing against Philly. That absolutely should not happen, though.

While Lockett is a warrior for even thinking about playing, there was fear of compartment syndrome in his injured leg. That can lead to amputation. Seriously.

The star Seahawks receiver spent two days in the hospital for a reason: this could have been a serious injury that ended his season. Though the tests came back negative, is there any need to rush Lockett back? Why not let him fully recover and not test the limits here, especially against an Eagles secondary that's largely been bad all year?

They can afford to do this because Russell Wilson is playing like an MVP and Josh Gordon stepped up big time with Lockett out late, hauling in two clutch grabs. Why not let Gordon get a large majority of snaps/targets from the start and see what he can do?

Obviously, Seattle is a way better team when Lockett is on the field, but if there's any risk of serious injury to his leg, it'd be wise to sit him and make sure he's 100% good for the late stretch and playoffs.

This is a move the Seahawks can afford to make. We'll see on Sunday which direction they decide to go in.
