Seahawks Not Signing Marshawn Lynch Despite Weird NFL Rule Forcing 'Official' Visit
By Mark Powell

Marshawn Lynch hasn't 'officially' retired from the NFL (or filled out the required paperwork, in this case), and is listed as a free agent. Because of this, his visit to the Seattle Seahawks came with a little more fanfare than he expected.
The Seahawks' running back corps is weak at the moment, especially with Rashaad Penny out for the season. Yet, bringing in Lynch, who hasn't played in the NFL this season, had nothing to do with filling out the backfield. Instead, Lynch was visiting the VMAC to show some support to his former team and visit with the guys.
Marshawn Lynch was in town and made a visit to the VMAC Wednesday. The team had to report that as a visit to the NFL since he is an unrestricted free agent and has not officially retired. But the team is not considering signing Lynch.

It's nice that Lynch was there for moral support, but also a little confusing that the Seahawks had to officially state he reported for a visit when he has no intention of signing with them or any other NFL team for that matter.
Lynch is just living his best life, and wanted to check on some of his former teammates as they fight for a playoff berth. We see nothing wrong with that.

Who could forget Lynch's famous run against the Saints in the 2010 postseason? Yet, the now 33-year-old doesn't resemble his bulldozing self of old. At this juncture, he doesn't have that same fire, especially to be an add-on for a postseason run.
Sorry to get your hopes up, Seattle.
