Seahawks Need to Stop Tip-Toeing Around and Sign Damon 'Snacks' Harrison Before it's Too Late

The Seattle Seahawks are starving for a stud on the defensive line, and Damon "Snacks" Harrison is just the fuel they need to push their roster over the top.

The Seahawks have been exploring veteran options for their defensive line for a while, and Harrison fits the bill. After splitting from the Detroit Lions, Harrison toyed with the idea of retirement, but the 31-year old has since said he plans to play in 2020. With his size and experience, he'll fit right into the Seahawks' system.

When former defensive tackle Al Woods signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, it left a big hole in the Seahawks' scheme at nose tackle. Harrison could match Woods' size almost exactly at 6'3" and 351 pounds. He's also a proven pass rusher and has played in at least 15 games since 2013. That's durability.

More than anything though, the Seahawks need veteran leadership at the head of the defensive line. Harrison has been in the NFL since 2012 and has played for three different teams. If he were to sign with the Seahawks, he would play alongside Jarran Reed, who was drafted in 2016, and Poona Ford, who was drafted in 2018.

Harrison might be more expensive than the Hawks would like, but he's well worth it for what he brings to the table in terms of impact and intangibles.
