Seahawks Need to Address Their Literal Backup QB Vacancy as Soon as Possible

Russell Wilson is a perennial MVP candidate, but every NFL team, including the Seattle Seahawks, must prepare for the worst-case scenario.

With that in mind, who will Pete Carroll and Co. turn to in the unfortunate event of an injury to the Wisconsin product? Uh...as of now, it's no one.

The lack of depth at the most important position in football should concern Seahawks fans, but thankfully there is plenty of offseason left to fill that need.

With the likes of Cam Newton and Jameis Winston unlikely to sign in Seattle due to the simple fact the Hawks are very set at QB1, John Schneider should reach out to veterans Matt Moore, Joe Flacco or even Josh McCown, who would prefer to play another season rather than retire from the NFL altogether.

A stable, veteran backup should be cost-efficient for a team still considering bringing back Jadeveon Clowney. On top of this, Seattle should add through the NFL draft, specifically in the mid rounds. A Jake Fromm or Jalen Hurts-type would fit well in an academic role, holding the clip-board and stepping in if necessary.

Surely, it's better than the Seahawks' current setup of Wilson or bust.
