Five NFL greats are headed to Canton as members of the class of 2020, and the last one to be named Saturday night deserves every bit of the spotlight that comes with such a moment. Steve Hutchinson, an offensive guard who starred in the league for a dozen years, is headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

A national champion at Michigan before going on to be a seven-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro with the Seahawks and Vikings, Hutchinson retired in 2012 as one of the most accomplished interior lineman of his generation.

Hutchinson was named a member of the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s, and there are few players at any position who could match the sheer consistency of his greatness.

After departing Minnesota, he signed a three-year deal with the Titans, but opted to retire after the 2012 season, his first campaign there, at the age of 35.

Offensive guards tend not to get much of the glory, but if there was ever a guy on the inside worthy of lavish praise, it's Steve Hutchinson. His enshrinement is well-earned, and he'll be remembered a long, long time from Ann Arbor to Seattle to the Twin Cities for the hard work he put forth in the trenches for so many years.
