The Houston Astros stole the show at the end of the trade deadline yesterday , acquiring ace starter Zack Greinke and couple other high-upside pitchers from Toronto.

However, there were plenty of trades that went under the radar, including the San Francisco Giants acquiring former All-Star second baseman Scooter Gennett.

San Francisco is getting more attention for not trading Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith, as well as moving some bullpen options like Mark Melancon and Sam Dyson.

However, they kept Bumgarner and Smith because they still feel like a Wild Card spot is within their grasp. So, to better their chances, GM Farhan Zaidi decided to grab Gennett, who when healthy is a 20-homer, 90-RBI bat in the middle of the order.

Oracle Park is a lot more spacious than Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park, but in 56 career at-bats playing in San Francisco, Gennett is slugging over .500 and has 8 extra-base hits.

He may not be as much of a home run threat away from Cincy's launching pad, but he can drive balls in the gap and be a real help to the Gaints' offense.

If he would've been healthy this year, you can bet Gennett would've fetched more than a player to be named later. Kudos to the Giants for looking past his current struggles and grabbing a high-upside bat who can help them down the stretch.
