Saquon Barkley Wants Us to Believe Daniel Jones Was Worth the No. 6 Pick Based on Nothing

Saquon Barkley was quick to tell the media that their assumptions about the Giants sixth overall pick Daniel Jones are wrong, and that the quarterback will be a successful player in the NFL.

But while the star running back's words seem encouraging, he has little-to-no evidence to support his claim. While only the future will tell whether or not the Jones pick will live on in infamy, Barkley is vouching for the former Duke gunslinger.

The only problem with Barkley's claim is that there are absolutely no facts to back it up, meaning Barkley's praise of Jones is based solely off of the quarterbacks similarities with Eli Manning and the fact that Barkley is a good teammate. Would anyone really expect the second-year running back to throw shade at his own quarterback?

Barkley said that Jones will bring two Super Bowls to New York, the same amount that Eli Manning won during his tenure as the starting quarterback. Barkley could be right, but when you look at the lackluster college stats of Jones compared to other top quarterback prospects, it seems as if Barkley's words may not hold much fruit.

If what Barkley saw in practice was that overwhelming, than maybe the Giants did just find their heir to Eli Manning's reign at quarterback after all. But we'll have to wait and see, for now, many remain skeptical about the team's decision to slight Dwayne Haskins and take Jones with the sixth overall pick.
