Finally, the man's been paid.

The New Orleans Saints have come to terms with defensive end Cameron Jordan on a huge contract extension, according to Adam Schefter.

This move will certainly please Saints fans, as Jordan had a tremendous impact on the team's defensive efforts last year.

His resume warrants a contract extension as sizable as this one. Jordan is a four-time NFL Pro-Bowler, coming off a season where he was named Second Team All-Pro for recording 49 tackles, 12 sacks, six passes defended, 21 quarterback hits, and a single forced fumble. Jordan also moved into fourth place on the Saints’ all-time sacks list with 71.5, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to record double-digit sack totals in four separate seasons in the process.

Under his leadership, the New Orleans Saints won their division with a stellar 13-3 record, advancing to compete in the NFC Championship Game before falling to the Los Angeles Rams. In that game, Jordan made three tackles and one quarterback hit.

Despite failing to make it to the Super Bowl as the NFL's best team in the regular season, Jordan feels the football world has not seen the last of the Saints:

“We’re taking one step closer each and every year, for us, as long as we keep doing what we do, as long as we keep our eyes on the prize, keep our eyes focused on what we have to accomplish, hopefully that leads us into the next step, which would be a Super Bowl next year,” Jordan said.

With Drew Brees at quarterback and Jordan leading the defense, the sky is the limit for this New Orleans team.
