The knockout round of the 2019 IIHF World Championships are upon us, and the quarterfinals are set to begin oh Thursday morning. One of the two matchups to open up the round features Team Russia facing off against Team USA.

The quarterfinal matchup between the Americans and the Russians is scheduled for Thursday morning, starting at 10:15 a.m. ET. Streams can be found on Reddit's Hockey Streams subreddit.

Team Russia ends the preliminary stage as the only undefeated team remaining, finishing with a perfect 7-0 record. Russia is an all-around solid team, with goaltending that is world class, a solid defensive core, and a top-notch forward group. This roster seems to have no holes.

Team USA finished in the last position to qualify for the knockout round in Group A, with four wins, an overtime win, and two losses through seven games.
The American roster is no joke either, with an entire roster full of experienced NHL players with one exception. That anomaly is the projected first overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, Jack Hughes. If any team in this tournament can take down the Russians, it's this American squad.
